H&M's Designer Collab Past

The designer collabs are almost dynastic for H&M. The retailer has had crazy success introducing the team-ups in the past, which have offered shoppers a chance to own beautifully designed pieces from some of the most noted names in high fashion at a fraction of the cost, starting in 2004. Karl Lagerfeld

The Swedish retailer introduced the first of its designer collaborations with Lagerfeld, of Chanel and Fendi fame, who sent fans to the stores in droves. In some stores, merchandise sold out with an hour. [Image: Getty Images]

Life after Karl

H&M kept the momentum going with collaborations with designers like Stella McCartney in 2005, Viktor & Rolf in 2006, Robert Cavalli in 2007, Comme des Garçons in 2008, Matthew Williamson and Jimmy Choo in 2009, Lanvin in 2010, Versace in 2011, and Marni in 2012. [Image: Getty Images]

Camp-outs, Crazy Lines, and e-Bay

In anticipation of merch selling out, fans of the brands have been known to wait in lines overnight to get a shot at the covetable wares. Camping. Outside. In New York City. Can you think of anything crazier? Limited edition accessories and clothes were commonly found on eBay selling for multiple times their retail prices. [Image: Getty Images]

H&M's 2012 Collab with Maison Martin Margiela

Before Isabel Marant was announced, Maison Martin Margiela was the latest designer collaboration in H&M’s vault. With a wild party to celebrate the 2012 launch and a lot of buzz surrounding the line, MMM’s was one of the more highly anticipated collections among the fashion set. Sadly, the less commercial collab didn’t fare as well in-store, with much of the merchandise remaining past markdowns and sales. [Image: @HM on Instagram]

Which brings us back to.... Isabel Marant

Marant is known for her cool chick Parisian, bohemian style. From broken-in leather jackets to the famous wedge sneaker, Marant has created signatures of her brand that could translate well onto the H&M racks, and all her fans would be glad for it: She makes clothes that are simply easy to wear. Hear Isabel Marant talk about her collaboration with H&M here. According to the video, Marant’s collaboration is an “ideal wardrobe that you can do a lot with.” How long ‘til November?
