“Tiny Birthday for a Tiny Hedgehog” Video Is the Best Thing You’ll Watch All Day

It’s rainy, dark, and dreary in the Northeast today, so let’s give ourselves a little pick-me-up before we all fall asleep at our desks, shall we? Obviously that pick-me-up should be in the form of something cute, furry, and four-legged — and wouldn’t you know it? The universe has obliged by dropping this little gem right in our laps. The “Tiny Birthday for a Tiny Hedgehog” video that’s currently making the rounds is by far the best thing you’ll watch all day, so get ready to squee.

HelloDenizen, the content division of social media and marketing company Denizen, has taken YouTube on by storm in recent months with its tiny animals videos. First there were hamsters eating tiny burritos and tiny pizzas; now, we’ve got those same hamsters celebrating their best hedgehog buddy’s birthday. My love of hedgehogs has been well documented both here at Bustle and elsewhere, so it should come as no surprise that I find the image of a hedgehog wearing a birthday hat with frosting smeared all over his little hedgehog mouth so cute I can barely stand it. All together, now: Awwwwwwwww!

For the curious and slightly concerned, don’t worry about the effects the cake might have had on its fuzzy little recipients; according to the video's description, both it and the frosting were made of hamster- and hedgehog-friendly foods like bananas and sugar free applesauce. Beet juice was used to dye the whole thing pink, making it look like a delicious strawberry-frosted confection.

Happy birthday, hedgehog!
