There's One Problem with 'Muppets Most Wanted'

by Kate Ward

Clearly, Muppets Most Wanted was written immediately after The Muppets was released in 2011. Because it will (hopefully) be the only 2014 film to feature a cover of the worst thing to happen to pop culture that year (besides Courtney Stodden): Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera's non-stop summer hit, "Moves Like Jagger."

Luckily, the song's existence seems to be the only groan-worthy moment of the Muppets Most Wanted teaser trailer, which is embedded below. The sequel, which promises to be "better, bolder, and bigger" certainly has upped its star power quotient, adding Tina Fey, Modern Family's Ty Burrell, and Ricky Gervais, who we already know can handle his own sitting next to a plush puppet.

We're only given a short peek at the sequel, but we do learn a few things: 1) Burrell looks great with a mustache as the film's inspector Jean Pierre Napoleon, and 2) Fey is about as good at a Russian accent as Liz Lemon is at eating healthy. Still, we love her anyway.

Muppets Most Wanted doesn't come out until March 21, but keep in mind this is simply a teaser — we can expect to see plenty more of our fuzzy monster friends (and their A-list pals) in the coming months.
