Are These Two Stars the Next Rob and Kristen?

Well, this will either make the Aug. 21 release of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones very successful, or very, very awkward. Lily Collins and Jamie Campbell Bower, the young Hollywood couple who have been dating since July 2012, have parted ways, according to Us Weekly . The split comes just shortly before Collins and Bower will make the press rounds promoting their movie, in which they play Jace and Clarly, the supernatural couple who (spoiler alert!) get romantically involved by the end of City of Bones.

Which most definitely means Collins and Bower are the next Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. A huge, YA franchise? A relationship that could double as a promotional tool, regardless of their on or off status? Sounds plenty tabloid-worthy for us.

Of course, City of Bones has to prove to be a Twilight-level success first. Collins has yet to truly hit with the YA crowd since breaking out in The Blind Side despite her efforts in Abduction and Mirror Mirror, but Bower has proven to be an underground YA powerhouse, having starred in such hits as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows and, yes, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

So are Collins and Bower the next Stewart and Pattinson? We'll have to wait to see what happens when the off couple is on again? (Perhaps just in time for the Mortal Instruments: City of Bones DVD?)
