Comedy Central Isn't Wasting Any Time

by Kristie Rohwedder

Pour some Jack Daniels (or champagne, a la Natasha Leggero sloshily retelling the story of Patty Hearst's kidnapping) in a cup of Dumb Starbucks, Nathan For You and Drunk History fans, for you are going to want to celebrate accordingly the very moment this news is put in your eyes: Comedy Central announced the renewals of Nathan For You and Drunk History . Yes, their second seasons only recently commenced, but thanks to steadily growing ratings, the third seasons have already been locked down.

Comedy Central's content development and original programming president Kent Alterman made the announcement. According to THR, Alterman asked, "Is there any comedy well deeper to draw from than history and business marketing?"

Alterman gets it.

Not only are the pair of programs channel mates and Tuesday night mates, but I'd go so far as to say that they happen to be two of the most helpful shows on Comedy Central. Think about it: One helps humans fix their failing small businesses, and the other helps humans learn the ins and outs of specific historic events. Yes, they are funny television programs, but they're also SO HELPFUL!

...Er, the more I think about the shows, I realize I probably mean "helpful."
