Prabal Gurung's Latest Ads Are Out Of This World

by Rosie Narasaki

It's been a big week for British supermodels, no? Topshop recently released images from their fall advertisements featuring Cara Delevingne, and Nepalese American designer Prabal Gurung has just revealed Rosie Huntington-Whiteley as the face of his fall campaign.

The collaboration marks something of a return to modeling for Huntington-Whiteley, who has been busy making movies (after her mediocre-to-bad reviews for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, she went on to take a supporting role in the upcoming Mad Max film), and working to create a line of lingerie for British staple Marks & Spencer.

It's a big time for Gurung, too: Sandra Bullock wore one of his creations to the Academy Awards last year, and before she was a Dior girl, mega-star Jennifer Lawrence wore his designs with wonderful aplomb — it's hard to remember that he's a relative newcomer to the scene with only five years under his belt!

Well, now they've come together to create an absolutely fabulous ad campaign: Huntington-Whiteley stands against a hazy red sky, jagged rocks beneath her feet, and an oversized moon looming behind her head. Apparently, this collection takes direct inspiration from Mustang, an area of the Himalayas on the border of his own Nepal. And indeed, like Mustang, there's something simultaneously very of-this-world and very not about this collection:

What do you think? Takes you right out, doesn't it?
