Celebrities Remember Robin Williams

Monday evening was shrouded by a piece of stunning and crushing news: Aug. 11, Robin Williams passed away at the age of 63. The Academy Award-winning actor was reportedly found unconscious in his Tiburon, CA home Monday morning, and according to the Coroner's report, he was pronounced deceased shortly after. The suspected cause of death is suicide due to asphyxia, but this cannot be confirmed until an official investigation is conducted. Whatever the cause of death may have been, this tragic news really, really stings.

Williams will forever be remembered for his sense of humor, his flawless comedic timing, his warm onscreen presence, and his genius. Being that he was an incredibly beloved and respected public figure, many people were devastated by the news of his untimely passing. As soon as the story broke that the revered, brilliant, and legendary actor/comedian had died, Twitter began to grieve together by way of 140-character eulogies, cherished memories, lines from his movies, screengrabs, and links to iconic scenes.

The news affected non-famous people and Hollywood folk alike: A number of celebrities— whether they were friends, costars, or fans of Williams— took to Twitter to mourn the heartbreaking loss of the comedy hero.
