They Won The VMA Red Carpet

Ah, Katy Perry. There's doubt her style has matured since her "Kissed A Girl" days of cupcakes for boobs, but she still manages to bring a ton of fun to formal occasions. Case in point: At the 2014 VMAs, Katy Perry and Riff Raff channeled Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake in a pair of matching denim outfits. Am I dreaming, or is this the best thing that's ever happened?

Perry's strapless dress is, actually, rather flattering, despite being made out of horrible denim patchwork and massive silver studs. And I'm surprised Riff Raff can even hold his head up with all that bling around his neck.

With three nominations this year ("Dark Horse" is up for Best Female Video and Best Collaboration, while "Birthday" was nominated for Best Lyric Video), Perry continues to dominate in the female pop space — though a bit more quietly than some of her peers, like Miley Cyrus or Nicki Minaj. Honestly, I'm happy she did something hilarious for the red carpet this year. 2013's grill and leopard print maxi were, you know, fine, but bringing back the most memorable denim moment in the history of celebrities? That's just freakin' brilliant. They even have the horrible mini purse and denim cowboy hat! I will absolutely never recover from this.
