Like it or not, fall is on its way. All the signs are there: back to school prep, Labor Day BBQ plans, and early Halloween decor on display in the craft store down the street from my home. Yes, the lazy days of summer are drawing to an end. Revisiting the fall 2014 fashion shows from earlier this year in preparation for the change in seasons continues to be one of the bright spots of fall’s return. New York, London, Milan, and Paris designers gave us a new crop of trends this February — some outrageous and others down right cartoonish — but all worth careful consideration. Since bloggers are the first place most of us go to find new outfit ideas, and some are already sporting the fall 2014 trends, I turned to them for a little styling advice.

Year round, these 11 lovely ladies from all parts of the globe show us how to incorporate the new trends into your lives and closet seamlessly, so let’s look to them or more accurately, their Instagram feed — for a few great tips for fall dressing. Maybe the end of summer won’t be so bad after all. Take a peek to see what I mean.

1. Chunky Sweater

Pairing a chunky sweater with a flirty skirt is the way to go. Add a little leather like Dublin-based blogger Anouska Proetta Brandon to get an edgy feel.

2. Brights and Lights

Pastels aren't classic fall colors, but Australian-based blogger Willabelle Ong of Pale Division makes it more menswear than garden party.

3. Graphic Prints

Mixing and matching bold graphic prints seems to be a perpetual trend, but Allison Teng of Curvy Girl Chic takes it more tribal, which is perfect for fall.

4. Midi Skirts

NYC based blogger Blair Eadie of AtlanticPacific takes on the midi trend but with a huge shot of color to liven things up.

3. Velvet Goth

Velvet can get real serious real fast, so Amy Scheepers of Fancy Pants based in Cape Town, South Africa keeps it light with burn out print and bright turquoise accessories.

4. Neon

Don't be afraid of neon. When worn as a chunky sweater, it goes from extra on Saved by the Bell to hip chick on the block. Australian blogger Fabliha Reza of Inside In Inside Out pulls it off nicely.

5. Sneakers

You may have heard that sneakers are in this year, but that doesn't necessarily mean you have to give in to the workout-gear-as-clothes trend. How about a pastel leather jacket and distressed jeans like Katherine K. of My Neon Rock?

6. Dress Over Pants

Wearing dresses over pants is big this fall (I know! I know! Bear with me here.) and West Coast blogger Tanesha Awasthi of Girl with Curves hits it out of the park. Her look may seem a bit too summery to my northerner friends, but this is September dressing in Cali.

7. Western

Western can be very tricky, but Germany based Anjelica Lorenz of Mode Junkie kinda nails it. Check out that belt!

8. Nordic/Fair Isle

No surprise that Belgium/Russian blogger Elena Vasilieva of Vasilieva would look so perfectly casual in a fair isle sweater and leather shorts.

9. Plaid

So easy, and it doesn't have to look like you just stepped out of a Pearl Jam video. This simple ensemble is courtesy of New York-based but London-born Karen Blanchard of Where Did U Get That.
