Here's Jamie Dornan's Post-'Fifty Shades' Move

by Alanna Bennett

In just a few months the press extravaganza for February 2015's Fifty Shades Of Grey will really kick into gear, and we will be living in Jamie Dornan's world. The dude's pretty much guaranteed to blow up for a little while within the next calendar year — which is why it's pretty good news for The 9th Life Of Louis Drax that Jamie Dornan's signed on for their project. Because Fifty Shades turns out to be the Sharknado of sexy movies, it's gonna be a good year for Dornan.

The 9th Life Of Louis Drax is being directed by French director Alexandra Aja, whose film Horns stars Daniel Radcliffe and premieres to North America and the UK come Oct 31. Aja's also known for directing The Hills Have Eyes and Piranha 3D.

The film will be based off the best-selling Liz Jensen novel of the same name, about a "brilliant and strange" boy whom something violent happens to every year and who falls into a coma on his ninth birthday. The script is being co-produced and adapted by Max Minghella, who's largely been known as an actor so far (The Social Network, The Internship), but who's making his screenwriting debut. Minghella said in a statement that he's looking forward to creating "a truly original movie that will captivate and surprise audiences.” Aja's comments on Minghella's adaptation also sound promising:

Max’s script takes us on a very emotional journey through the deep recesses of the mind and on a suspenseful Hitchcockian ride. I was drawn to the poignant family drama and the supernatural elements, and am excited to bring this rich and complex story to life.

Dornan will play the kid's doctor, Dr. Allan Pascal.
