H&M's Newest Collection Is Basically Perfect
Have you heard of the H&M Studio Collection? Apparently, the brand does two shows per year at Paris Fashion Week — after which, the looks are subsequently sold in select stores and online (I'm so glad H&M finally jumped on the e-commerce bandwagon. I mean 2013? Really, that's almost embarrassingly late to the party). Anyway, this year's Autumn/Winter 2014 collection drops tomorrow (September 4th), and the looks are quite fabulous — and luckily, this is fast fashion we're talking here, so they also happen to be available at quite the affordable price point (huzzah!).
The collection may not be available until tomorrow, but you can preview the looks on the website (which features a striking .GIF of a model standing in front of a rushing train, as a lifelike, ever-so-slightly techno-infused sound effect plays plaintively in the background) — and I took the opportunity to do a little pre-shopping shopping: I've cherry-picked some of my favorite looks from the collection for your consumption so you can be ready to hit the ground running when the collection drops in the morning. Read on to see some of the best, chicest, and just plain weirdest pieces from the upcoming A/W 2014 lookbook.
Voluminous Faux Fur Jacket
Very Jon Snow-chic.
Swoopy Wool Blend Coat
Channel Sherlock Holmes (the adaptation of your choosing) in this floor-dusting, shawl collared coat. You'll own whatever room you happen to be standing in.
Fabulous Beaded Top
Admittedly, this is one of the more expensive looks from the collection, clocking in at just under $300... that said, I'm all for athletic-inspired meets Art Deco.
Dreamy Asymmetric Dress
For $39.95, you can look like updated Cher Horowitz meets Tinkerbelle (yes, of course that's a good thing).
Structured Fine Knit Sweater
Very futuristic: next time you go see a big action movie, you'll feel like (a very chic) member of the team — I mean, I can see GotG fashion-plate extraordinaire Gamora wearing this thing with aplomb.
