These NYFW Street Style Stars Have Brains, Too

Ah, tis the season for fabulous street style. All the sartorially minded are gathering around Lincoln Center, ostensibly to check out all the Spring/Summer 2015 shows on the runways... but also, really, to show off their outfit assembling abilities. And I couldn't be more excited to see and photograph everyone's brilliant ensembles.

But, guys, "fashion people" get a bad rap. Seriously — look at any movie or television show, and we're basically portrayed as airheads, or else super mean and judgmental a la Miranda Priestly. Granted, the general perception of stylish folks as shallow, pretentious, and unintelligent is changing, thanks to ladies like Lucky's Editor-In-Chief Eva Chen and Leandra Medine of Man Repeller fame sharing their innermost thoughts on Instagram, along with peeks inside their closets. Us normals are no longer doomed to boring tees and jeans, with Target, H&M, and other fast-fashion retailers teaming up with big name designers to bring cool kids clothes to the masses.

So, this week while I was doing my normal rounds at NYFW, I decided to ask the fashionable show goers more that just "Who are you wearing?" Their favorite books, vacation plans, and most recently curated Spotify playlist all came up — along with some really awesome shopping tips. Turns out, stylish people can be multi-faceted.
