I really never thought that I would be saying this, but everyone, please: Go watch Avril Lavigne's new music video for her song, "Rock N Roll." Do it with the mute button on, actually — a) because the song sucks, and b) because, not going to lie, I did, and it was sort of like watching some crazy modern art film, if modern art films featured Danica McKellar as Winnie Cooper, Billy Zane on a rocket Segway, and a bad CGI bearshark. Really riveting stuff.
I digress. The point I'm trying to make here is this: Lavigne is finally at the point in her career where she's stopped taking herself seriously as an emo/punk rocker chick, which is good, since she never actually was one. That realization makes for some crazy music videos, as indicated by this one, which features all the things I listed above, and more. And, yes, Wonder Years fans: Avril Lavigne makes out with Winnie Cooper, and she calls her Winnie after they kiss. Looks like we finally have an answer to what happened after Winnie Cooper left the suburbs of Anywhere, USA in The Wonder Years and moved to the big bad city. Continuity, established.
Also, I really don't know what Billy Zane is doing here. He's been in Academy Award-winning films. It's confusing.
