Is it just me or has Carolina Herrera been killing it on the red carpet lately? Three of my favorite gowns in recent memory are Lucy Liu's floral ball gown from the 2013 Golden Globes, Zhang Ziyi's floral ball gown from Cannes last year, and Emmy Rossum's... er, floral ball gown from the most recent Met Gala (I'm sensing a pattern here).
The Carolina Herrera Spring 2015 RTW collection is no different: It was absolutely stuffed to the gills with red carpet-ready stunners, and that tidbit of info, taken together with Lucy Liu's loyalty to the fashion house, and penchant for showstopping structured full-skirted numbers, is making the wheels of my brain turn... are you thinking what I'm thinking? I think we just found the dress Ms. Liu will be wearing to the 2015 Golden Globes!
It's early to making declarations of the sort (The Globes don't air until January), but hey — I'm still riding high after correctly guessing Lena Dunham's Emmy dress. Plus, this dress was one of the most-talked-about gowns from the show (deservedly so — it is very cool), and I imagine that it checks off Liu's checklist: Feminine-yet-structured? Fashion-y? Simultaneously innovative and classic? Check, check, and check:
Doesn't it just have "Lucy Liu" written all over it? I'll take your bets now.
