These TOMS For Target Items Are Too Dang Cute

by Amy Sciarretto

Two Christmases ago, Target teamed up with Neiman Marcus for a bunch of high-end, limited edition items. This season, Target has partnered with TOMS, switching gears a bit and focusing on basics instead of luxe pieces, while adding a charity element. Giving back always rules, but especially during the holiday season when we tend to get caught up in the shopping chaos. Let me start by saying that the Target and Neiman Marcus Holiday 2012 partnership was viewed as a bit of a bust or an epic fail, depending on who you ask and on what day. Honestly, I thought there was some amazing, worthwhile prestige pieces, like a Marc by Marc Jacobs scarf, Rodarte wrapping paper, Carolina Herrera travel bags, and Brian Atwood gloves, but not everyone was on baord.

For some reason, that particular really-high-and-marginally-low mashup sorta flopped and landed with a thud, which was surprising since Target's Go International fast fashion mashups were met with huge success and critical acclaim. But, lucky for us, that hasn't deterred Target from continuing its streak of original collabos. The brand is teaming with TOMS this holiday season for a bunch of useful items with a charitable spin.

The TOMS for Target limited edition collection includes clothes, accessories, housewares, kids stuff, shoes, and more. You will want to buy things for your parents and your bestie, but you'll probably ask them, in turn, to purchase a few of these items for you this holiday season. The TOMS x Target items are just as cute as they are affordable: nothing is over $50.

As for the do-gooder element? The partnership is part of TOMs One for One giving campaign. Each Target x TOMS purchase will help provide nourishment, warmth, or a pair of shoes to someone less fortunate.

So you can gift cool stuff (or receive cool stuff) and with a good conscious. Not only do you check people off your shopping list, but you also help someone else. That thought feels good, doesn't it?

TOMS for Target hits the big red bullseye stores on November 16. Start planning your shopping list now — there are dozens of pieces, but I've picked out my favorites.

3. Shoes, Obviously

Who does casual shoes better than TOMS? These slip-ons are a dressier alternative to sneakers, but are likely just as comfy.

4. Scarves And Hats, Oh My

Candles add elegance and warmth to any room or holiday celebration. This one is so chic.
