Elie Tahari’s new collaboration collection with Kohl’s DesigNation is hot off the presses. But you better scoop up your favorite pieces fast — this collection has already got itself a celeb following. Starting Tuesday, Kohl’s Elie Tahari collection will be available in nationwide stores and on Kohl’s.com. Elie Tahari is basically synonymous with feminine and sophisticated, modern yet refined womenswear, so I’ve been counting down the days until Tahari’s affordable and wearable collection hit Kohl’s stores. And Elie, my dear, you were well worth the wait…
Priced from $40 up to $175, the collection somehow traipses the pitfall that most designer collections run into when they do an “affordable fashion” collaboration — that the cheaper clothes look, well, just that. Nothing in Tahari’s arsenal appears to be from a lower cost line, which is probably why celebs like Emmy Rossum, Kate Bosworth, and Olivia Palermo have already been spotted toting a variety of pieces from the collection.
The collection itself is so Tahari with both delicate and textured fabrics and a gorgeous aesthetic inspired by New York City — the place that Tahari has called home since he arrived in 1971 from Israel with less than $100 to his name.
The collection, a total of 55 pieces, includes dresses, sweaters and knits, mixed-media pants, expertly tailored skirts, and cityscape prints. A mostly muted color palette of black, white, and gray flows throughout the line to capture “the colors of NYC,” according to Tahari. But be on the lookout for small dashes of color like yellow that represent iconic NYC taxis and bright blue that Tahari feels epitomizes “the shade of dreams… the shade of America.” I pledge allegiance to Tahari…
This is the fifth high fashion designer who has collaborated with Kohl’s DesigNation. So far, DesigNation has featured designers such as Narciso Rodriguez, Derek Lam, and Peter Som. Be on the lookout for Kohl’s next limited edition collection by Milly coming in spring 2015. For now, check out some of our top picks from Tahari’s line below and get yourself over to Kohl’s before they’re gone!
