by Sofia Barrett-Ibarria

If you're in Los Angeles starting this Thursday, you can see iconic from your favorite movies on display at the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences exhibit. The Wrap reports that some of the classic Hollywood movie costumes displayed include Jennifer Lawrence's Hunger Games, styles from Elizabeth, Titanic, American Hustle and The Social Network. Dorothy's ruby slippers and gingham dress from The Wizard of Oz will represent some of the more icon items on display, while pices like Jared Leto‘s flamboyant ensemble from Dallas Buyers Club will represent this year's Oscar winners.

In a statement on the Academy website, Academy President Cheryl Boone said, “We are thrilled to bring this innovative exhibition to Los Angeles[...]Hollywood Costume invites visitors to see some of the most well-known costumes from their favorite movies and to explore the impact designers have in creating our most beloved characters.” Costume designer Deborah Nadoolman Landis added, “Cinematic icons are born when the audience falls deeply in love with the people in the story. And that's what movies and costume design are all about." Curated by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences and London's Victoria & Albert Museum, the Hollywood Costume exhibit will be open to the public from Oct. 2-Mar. 2, 2015.
