5 Ways to Dress like J. Law This Halloween

by Jennifer Valdez

Cinna might be the mastermind behind the sizzling hot dresses Katniss Everdeen wears in The Hunger Games, but J. Law needs no help staying on top of her fashion game. And with one of the year's biggest nights to play dress-up right around the corner, why not dress up as Jennifer Lawrence for Halloween? Seriously, is there a better fashion icon to emulate?

No other female celebrity has emerged on the scene quite as successfully as Jennifer Lawrence in the past few years. From The Hunger Games to American Hustle to Silver Linings Playbook, she has proven to be a woman of many talents, and she juggles them all with such great style. No wonder she’s “the girl on fire.” Whether she’s on the go, on the red carpet, or starring in one of our favorite films, Jennifer’s look is timeless and totally accessible. So if you're looking for an easy A-List outfit to wear this year, here are five Jennifer Lawrence ensembles you can totally recreate for Halloween, and beyond. Go ahead — take your pick. Or, if you're looking to do a group-themed costume this year, you and your girlfriends can each recreate a J. Law look. After all, we can never have too much of our favorite "It" girl.

1. The Hunger Games Heroine

In The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Katniss Everdeen rallied up the districts wearing this grey ensemble that's casual with a little bit of an edge. To recreate this look, first you're going to need some black leather skinnies (H&M, $17).

Throw on a greyish-blue draped shirt (Modcloth, $25) ...

...layered with a grey shawl cardigan (Etsy, $55) to get the core of this look.

Add a pair of black ankle boots (Wallis, $56) and red lipstick (Sephora, $12.50), and you've got this Mockingjay model look down.

The Oscar-award winning actress wore this edgy Dior Haute Couture gown to the Catching Fire premiere in Los Angeles. To pull off this fashion statement, start by slipping on a strapless black one-piece bathing suit (Target, $40).

Next, throw on a long sheer grey dress (Bonanza.com, $28) strapped with a black waist belt (H&M, $10).

Don't forget the black clutch (ALDO, $40), and high heels (ALDO, $40) to top off the complete look.

3. The Silver Linings Playbook

Jennifer Lawrence pulled out some hot dance moves in this all-white get-up during her routine with Bradley Cooper in Silver Linings Playbook. While white might be out of season, a J. Law outfit is always in season. Pull off this look with a white, long-sleeve crop top (Misguided, $14).

Then, add fashionable white leggings (New Look, $7).

Finish things off with a pair of ballet shoes (Etsy, $10).

4. The American Hottie

Jennifer Lawrence caught everyone's attention as she slipped into this stunning, '70s-style dress while playing the eccentric Rosalyn Rosenfeld in American Hustle. Do the hustle the way Jennifer Lawrence would — in a glamorous white gown (ASOS, $87).

Add a few gold accessories — like this clutch (ALDO, $20) and bracelet (ALDO, $12).

Add some dangly earrings (H&M, $6) and, of course, the heels (Chinese Laundry, $60), and you've got one great costume.

5. Red Carpet Ready

Jennifer Lawrence is always one to watch on the red carpet, and there was certainly no disappointment when she showed up to the 2014 Oscars in this red-hot gown. This outfit is one of the most memorable Jennifer Lawrence looks to date. You can spend a little on a glamorous red dress (Lulu's, $47), and save on the accessories.

Mix in a silver clutch (ALDO, $35), a long silver necklace elegantly draped down the back (Macy's, $17), and a pair of silver studs (CharlotteRusse, $6).

Oh, and don't forget the liquid rouge lipstick (Sephora, $10).
