The Look to Send-Off Summer With

Fact: I can't sit still. That's because Labor Day weekend is so close I can touch it. And seeing this look on Carey Mulligan at the Venice Film Festival makes me all the more antsy for the holiday break, because everything about it is inspiring what I want to wear to send off summer.

Mulligan appeared dressed this black Miu Miu dress — reminiscent of a shift we probably all have in our closets (perhaps minus the designer label) — and everything about the pairing with the timeless t-strap Mary Janes and the hipster-cool sunglasses is spot-on.

The look is down-tempo and drama-free, don't you think? And the finishing touches: a pink-tinged lip — no crazy cat-eye liner to boot — make it actually wearable to a Labor Day BBQ. If this were the last look I were photographed in for Summer 2013, I'd call it a fashionable win.
