Yep, Pigtails Are Officially A Thing

by Tess Yocom

You guys. GUYS. In case you were living under a rock this weekend and missed the best tourist photo of all time, Beyoncé and Jay Z posed in front of the Mona Lisa. And it was amazing. Also, can you imagine going to the Louvre in Paris and only thinking you’d get pics of a few works of art, only to see BEYONCÉ AND JAY Z standing in front of one of the most famous paintings ever? A girl can only dream.

And to no one’s surprise, Beyoncé looked as flawless as she usually does — even as a tourist. Wearing an American flag tee (#irony, I guess), black skinnies, and matching fedora, Queen Bey proved that you don’t have to wear a dorky windbreaker and fanny pack while traveling across Europe. Who run the world? Bey.

But let’s talk about the pigtails. What was once a style we left on the playground has been making a comeback this fall. And why not? They’re easy, versatile, and can be worn with any hair length (looking at you, Miley). After all — we should all follow Bey’s lead, right?

From double buns to headbands, here are seven other celebs who know how to rock a set of pigtails, for a little hair-spiration.

1. Ariana Grande

She gave up her ponytail for these, so they're obviously a big deal.

2. Miley Cyrus

Short hair? Fake it 'til you make it.

3. Katy Perry

And the Gwen Stefani/Miley buns have made their way into 2014.

4. Selena Gomez

Sticking with a classic.

5. Alexa Chung

Bows at the bottom? Bonus points.

6. Jac Vanek

The designer clearly knows what's up.

7. Demi Lovato

Demi Insta'd this back in February, so maybe we can credit her for starting the trend?
