Johnny Depp and Marilyn Manson On Stage Together

Last Friday night at The Roxy in Hollywood, Johnny Depp made a surprise guest appearance at Marilyn Manson’s show, and it was a beautiful, hot mess. Mostly a hot mess. In a good way, though: Marilyn Manson looked like he had just eaten some blood, for starters. Ninja from Die Antwoord joined in on it too (because why not), and everyone added a little bit of their unique flare to Manson's signature '90s hit, “The Beautiful People”. While Depp played the guitar, Ninja threw his half-naked body into the crowd, and Manson walked around occasionally singing into the mic. I actually had no idea these two were friends, but apparently they’re huge fanboys of each other. Depp and Manson have performed together before at the 4th Annual Revolver Golden Gods Awards back in 2012 when Manson covered “You’re So Vain” by Carly Simon. Manson, likewise, is always at Johnny Depp’s movie premieres. According to Rolling Stone, their bromance has been going strong since 1999.

While this recent performance is pretty weird in my book (I’m admittedly not a shockrock fan, sorry guys), I am still really on board with this union of two brilliant dudes. Manson, who I’ve watched in some really intelligent interviews, is someone I totally respect, and Johnny Depp is just Johnny Depp. (JK, I’m sure he’s smart and wonderful, too.)

For all you Manson fanpeople, this isn’t the last you’ll be seeing of him: He just recently released a new single called “Third Day of a Seven Day Binge” off his new album (which is expected to come out in 2015.)
