Victoria Beckham Wears Dress With Pockets At Harper's Bazaar UK's Women of the Year Awards — Here Are 7 Other Celebs Who've Worked The Red Carpet Pocket Trend
There's only one thing better than a stunning red carpet gown: a stunning red carpet gown with pockets. Not that I'd know based on experience — the number of glamorous soirées I've been to is approximately zero — but I can imagine the joy of finding out that the perfect dress has two spots for all of your knick-knacks (or, ya know, hands.) Victoria Beckham wore her own elegant black dress to Harper's Bazaar UK's Women of The Year awards, and she obviously knew that pockets were the right choice when she designed it.
Pockets also make posing so much simpler. Personally, I never know what to do with my hands in photos, and I can only envision the awkwardness that would ensue if I did my little hand-placement-decision-making maneuvers in front of a slew of photographers. If I ever attend an event fancy enough to have this happen, I vow to wear a dress with pockets. In fact, I might just promise myself that I'll exclusively buy dresses with pockets from now on, no matter what they're for. Now that I'm thinking about it, why would I wear anything that didn't have pockets? Life questions.
Not only did this gown include the two most magical features a dress can have (left pocket and right pocket, obvs,) it was the perfect example of minimalist elegance. That's what I love about Victoria Beckham's style — she chooses (and designs) pieces that are chic enough to be noticed but understated enough that they don't outshine her. I love the plunging halter-style neckline, and though you can't see it in this photo, the dress has an open back as well.
Whenever I see a celebrity wearing a dress with pockets at an event, I applaud them. These seven ladies know what's up:
