18 Celebrities Who Showed Off Their Civic Duty

by Alicia Lu

Just in case you needed more proof that celebrities are just like us, civic-minded stars have been reminding us to vote leading up to Tuesday's midterm elections. And now they're posting proof that they weren't all talk. Throngs of celebrities are posting pics of their "I voted!" stickers and snaps straight from the voting booths. It's refreshing to see so many of the rich and famous take time out of their busy schedules to do something that will make an impact on all Americans. From Sir Patrick Stewart's eye-catching "I voted!" tie to Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard's Election Day-turned-date night and Lil Jon's cross-country trip to the polls, these celebrities are reminding us that every vote counts.

With the Senate hanging in the balance and the direction of President Obama's last two years at stake, the midterm elections are crucial for Americans, whether they know it or not. Deciding who has control of the Senate and House will affect important legislature — everything from gay marriage laws to birth control rights to gun control — and yet, the majority of Americans don't bother to vote in the midterm elections. With only about 37 percent of Americans voting, turnout in the midterms is significantly lower compared to turnout during the presidential elections, which sees about 54 percent heading to polling stations.

But it looks like celebrities aren't feeling the rest of America's apathy, if their social media accounts are any indication. Take a look at these famous faces who voted in the midterms.

Zach Braff

Go hard or go home, right, Zach?

Wilmer Valderrama

Eva Longoria

Longoria encouraged her fans to send their "I voted!" sticker pics, which she promised to retweet.

Patrick Stewart

Stewart channels Uncle Sam, except it's way better because he's Patrick Stewart.

Christy Turlington

Mandy Moore

Moore fulfilled her civic duty with friend Chase Weideman.

America Ferrera

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard

I don't think it's physically possible for this couple to get any cuter. Bell captioned her Instagram pic: "True romance is filling out your vote by mail together."

Ugh. Stop it.

Kendall Jenner

Chelsea Clinton

Rosario Dawson

Tracee Ellis Ross

John Leguizamo

Lena Dunham

Looks like Lena Dunham really had fun at the booths.

Lil Jon

The rapper flew from LA to Georgia just to vote. And he captioned his pic with possibly the best hashtag of this entire election: #TURNOUTFORWHAT. (Must be shouted.)

Madeleine Albright

Kate Hudson

Voting looks great on you, Kate.
