Their Dresses Dazzle The Woman Of the Year Awards

by Sienna Fantozzi

Understated is over — winter fashion is all about sparkle, glitz, and definitely some glamor. And what better red carpet to dazzle than Glamour Magazine's Women of the Year Awards, which were held Monday night in New York City.

Glamour's annual Women of the Year issue was recently released, naming Lupita Nyong'o Woman of the Year, and the culmination of the issue is an awards ceremony at Carnegie Hall, a venue for the winners to give speeches and pledge to do inspirational work in their field. And Nyong'o certainly looked every inch of a sparkling stunner on the red carpet. The Oscar-winner wore a winter white, long-sleeved dress with a stand up collar, but it was the gold embellishment on the mini-dress that I couldn't take my eyes off. From the floral pattern on the hem and the sleeves, to the intricate lining of her collar, she proved to us once again why she not only acts her awarded title, but looks it, too.

And the face of Lancome wasn't the only attendee to bedazzle her gown — Chelsea Clinton wore a strapless tea-length dress with blue and white embellished flowers. Though her look was characteristically lady-like, the floral detailing gave it a hint of sophisticated whimsy.
