When Is Sister Mary Eunice Coming to 'AHS'?

Ryan Murphy is starting to connect all the American Horror Story worlds together and that all begins with Sister Mary Eunice. Murphy announced last week that Lily Rabe would reprise her role as Sister Mary Eunice this season on American Horror Story, but when will we finally see her? According to my IMDB creeping skills, Sister Mary Eunice will appear in Episode 10 of American Horror Story: Freak Show. Even though she will probably only be in it for ten minutes, those of us who were obsessed with Asylum will be grateful for the cameo and for the clue as to how everything pieces together.

Murphy said this won't be the last time they bring together the seasons. "But we have always from the very beginning [been interested in] intertwining mythologies and how things connect," he told Entertainment Weekly. "This is the first year where we begin to tell you that Season 2 is connected to Season 4 which is connected to Season 1… We’re just beginning to tell you how they’re connected."

So what exactly is Sister Mary Eunice doing in Jupiter, Florida? We already know that Pepper was officially the first double character in the American Horror Story series — and for good reason. We always love a good Pepper moment. However, Sister Mary is apparently coming to the freak show to collect Pepper. As Murphy told EW, "I was thrilled she was able to come back and give us a couple days and show how Sister Mary Eunice and Pepper are connected."

Is it too much to ask for a reprisal of the name game? Maybe Pepper learns the name game at the freak show?

Episode 10 will air on Dec. 10, so we really don’t have to wait too long to find out what’s going on. However, here is what we do know at this point. Pepper was originally brought to Briarcliff for drowning her sister’s baby and, apparently, cutting the baby’s ears off. (She didn’t technically do it; her brother-in-law framed her.) So we have to assume that she is hiding from authorities with Elsa in Florida and Mary finds her and takes her away for the crime she committed in the past. Nothing else really makes sense, unless she was already in Briarcliff prior to the freak show and she escaped only to eventually be brought back by Sister Mary Eunice.

Something else to consider before the episode airs: which Sister Mary Eunice are we getting? Are we going to see her pre-possessed or after the devil is inside of her? Honestly, I hope the devil is already there because she was way better when she became a badass nurse.

Let the Asylum countdown begin.
