The scandal surrounding the Thompson family formerly of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo may have just taken another dark turn. In a new interview with Dr. Drew on HLN , Anna "Chickadee" Cardwell — who has previously revealed that the convicted sexual offender her mother is allegedly dating, Mark McDaniel, molested her when she was only 8 years old — revealed that Mama June may be hiding more than just her relationship with McDaniel: During the sitdown, Cardwell stated that her younger sister, Pumpkin, believes that Mark McDaniel is her father.
"He was supposed to be [Pumpkin's] so-called father or whatever it is," Cardwell explained. "You know, out of all the kids we have, Mama does not know who Pumpkin's dad is. And Pumpkin thinks it's Mark which kind of hurts my feelings, because Mama is making her believe that someone who did that to me is her father." Cardwell continued that Pumpkin now "hates" her for publicly talking about the abuse that she suffered as a child, and that they've stopped speaking: "Now Pumpkin hates me for it...now with her cussing me out, [saying ] "screw you" "F you"... I'm just done with it."
Additionally, and even more tragically, Cardwell also revealed that Mama June didn't believe her when she revealed that McDaniels had abused her, saying, "Mama didn't believe me for a while...she would say, 'Why would you do that to me?'"
Ugh. This situation seems to get more and more heartbreaking every day. Unfortunately, as previously reported, it doesn't seem like there will be a end to it soon either — at least, it won't due to law enforcement interference. McDaniel reportedly isn't breaking any laws by being near Mama June's other children, even though they're all underage, and he won't be unless he gets near Cardwell — and she's been mostly estranged from the family since McDaniel and Mama June began dating again. Even worse, McDaniel has indeed been seen around Mama June's other children, like 8-year-old Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson, recently:
It seems like the only way this will end is if Mama June wakes up and realizes she needs to do what's best for her children — because above all, that's the most important thing.
