Something about coat shopping is a bit more special than regular day-to-day shoe purchases or dress finding. I don't know what it is. Maybe it has to do with the fact that your winter coat will probably stay with you for months on end, until you've practically destroyed it from over-use. Maybe it's just that picking a coat seems like a bigger commitment than effortlessly swiping the credit card for most other apparel. For whatever reason, though, winter coat shopping is a big deal.
Some of my favorite things are trending this year: animal prints, pastels, faux fur, to name a few. And these fall fashion trends don't seem to be going anywhere. That means that wintry coats designed in leopard prints, cotton candy pinks and rainbow fur are dominating the market, and they're actually being made in plus-sizes.
For the first time in probably ever, choosing a plus-size winter coat isn't just about narrowing from the best three to five options. It's more like choosing out of a sea of 20 or 30. You could literally buy 25 coats and use them as a holiday countdown through the whole month of December. That's how good they are.
