Warren Christie is a Perk of 'Girlfriend's Guide'

by Kayla Hawkins

In Bravo's new scripted drama Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce, Lisa Edelstein's character, Abby, is an author who's always made a living off of giving women advice on how to have a life as perfect as she does — until she gets divorced. Then, she's thrown unceremoniously back into the dating pool, where she finds no shortage of other guys ready to treat her better than Jake, her ex-husband. Warren Christie plays Girlfriends' Guide cute guy and Abby's hookup Will (who is almost unfairly hot) now that she's left her husband.

As you can see in the trailer, Edelstein accurately captures Abby's complete befuddlement at the idea of dating, let alone rebounding with a younger man who's that good looking. I mean, she would be insane not to… reentering the dating world is crazy enough without doing it in her mid-40s and suddenly finding herself the older woman. And while she'll probably work her way through a few love interests throughout the series, since it wouldn't be much of a story is after getting divorced she immediately reentered into another long term relationship, for now she'll be shepherded by Christie's Will.

But don't blame yourself if you had no idea that Christie was going to be in Girlfriend's Guide — not even IMDB had it right! Even though he's worked quite a bit, especially on Canadian shows, he's yet to have a huge breakout in the US. But he's worked in plenty of TV, so maybe this rundown of his resume will help jog your memory.

He's Got a Starring Role on Alphas

Christie is probably best known for his starring role on SyFy's superhero drama Alphas. He plays Cameron Hicks, who may be emotionally guarded, but whose superpower gives his body the ability to achieve anything in his mind's eye, so he never misses a shot or has a mistaken reflex. Yep, his superpower is basically being totally perfect.

He's Also One of the Best Parts of Motive

A Canadian drama that airs on ABC during the summers, Motive is carrying on the Columbo legacy by building a procedural cop show backwards, by showing the victim and the way they were killed at the start of every episode, then watching as the detectives, led by Christie as Sgt. Mark Cross, figure out exactly what happened.

His TV Movies Break Records

Christie starred alongside Lacy Chabert (the former Gretchen Weiners) in the Hallmark Channel's original movie The Color of Rain , which turned out to become the highest rated program in Hallmark history. And the subject of The Color of Rain? It's about a widow and widower who fall in love after losing their respective spouses. It's kind of like a Nicholas Sparks take on Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce. Maybe The Color of Rain is a good omen for Girlfriends' Guide's future ratings.
