15 Marsala Hued Beauty Products to Ensure Your Makeup Routine is Pantone Color-of-the-Year-Approved

As we all know, Pantone proclaimed that Marsala was the 2015 color of the year this week. I always feel like naming one color of the year is a pretty bold move. I mean, there are a lot of great colors out there, right? Doesn't anyone feel like this kind of pigeon-holes us in terms of a 365 day color palette? My rant aside, I personally feel like the good people of Pantone were spot on with their choice of 2015's color mascot for many reasons.

Firstly, it has to be some sort of good omen that the main color for the upcoming year is the same shade as red wine. Red wine is delicious and brings great joy to many of us, so in my book, that is just putting good juju out into the universe. Perhaps 2015 will also be a year with many red wine-filled celebrations.

Secondly, the color experts themselves described their choice by saying, "a naturally robust and earthy wine red, Marsala enriches our minds, bodies and souls." I am all in for some enrichment in the new year.

And thirdly, and perhaps most importantly, Marsala is a spectacular color for various types of beauty products. The dark, vampy lip that was all the rage in the 90s has danced around a resurgence over the last few fall seasons, for instance. However, with this slightly lighter, warmer shade at the helm, I expect a full-on, warmly-welcomed comeback in 2015. And since it is the color of the year, no one can tell us we have to give up our beloved dark nails for bubblegum pink or coral come springtime. I am sure the beauty experts are fast at work figuring out how to meld Marsala with the warmer months, though.
