'True Blood' Premiere Proves Series is Bleeding Viewers

by Kate Ward

Seems True Blood might be starting to bleed out. The hit vampire series, which premiered its sixth season Sunday, proved it might not be much of a hit anymore, with its first episode capturing just 4.5 million viewers.

That's less than the NBA finals, less than BBC's The White Queen , and less than last year's season premiere, which raked in 5.2 million viewers. Still, there's silver lining: True Blood's premiere still beat Game of Thrones' Season 3 premiere, which only attracted 4.4 million viewers. Considering the season finale of the fantasy series scored 5.4 million for its final episode this season, True Blood is likely to only move up from here.

That is, as long as they give us more Lafayette.
