Gwyneth Appears to Be Aging Backwards

by Amy Sciarretto

Gwyneth Paltrow has had a tough year, image-wise. Despite consciously uncoupling with hubby Chris Martin and the continued beating her bougie image takes in the press, the actress proves that looking good is the best revenge. Gwyneth Paltrow's Harper's Bazaar UK cover, which is the mag's February 2015 issue, finds her shimmering in midnight-hued sequins, with stick straight hair blowing in the wind, and her toned and tanned legs taking center stage. Her visage is flawless, with nary a wrinkle crossing her forehead.

Maybe it's Photoshop. (Can I just go ahead and credit Photoshop? It's not a stretch, really.) Or maybe, just maybe, it's Gwynnie taking super good care of her skin with all the amenities afforded her by virtue of her celeb status. Whatever the case, the Oscar winner and mother of two appears to be aging backward and looks just as good now, at 42, as she did in her 30s.

It's not likely she'll reveal her digital or product secrets, but we can still marvel at how good she looks on this new cover. Perhaps all those years of a macrobiotic diet had a fountain of youth-like effect on the A-lister. Or maybe it's Photoshop. Did I say that already?

I could speculate all day but I'd rather move on. See Paltrow strutting her stuff below.

Perfect right? Now let's look back at some of her other memorable covers of yore.

1. Cinderella-Like

Paltrow's Iron Man-era Vogue cover was sorta Cinderella-like.

2. Platinum Blonde + Perma-Tanned

Paltrow was perma-bronzed and platinum blonde for W. It was Gwynnie as we'd never seen her, aping Donatella Versace.

3. Maxi-Ed Out

Paltrow showed shaggy, non-blonde hair and some sideboob in a maxidress for Vogue.

4. Topless and Sexy

When I think Gwyneth Paltrow x Vanity Fair, I think of the epic takedown piece that never was. But this topless image for a calendar was pretty memorable. Technically not a cover, I know, but still...

5. Thinly Veiled

Paltrow was Puritanical with this veiled Harper's Bazaar cover. Her baby blues were striking.

6. Makeup-Free

The actress was makeup-free and freckled for the Fair.

7. ELLE-BD

Paltrow has legs for days and she showed them in an LBD. So it was her ELLE-BD cover. Clever, I know.
