The most popular baby names in America are currently Liam and Emma, but don't expect celebrities to give their kids one of those monikers. Celebrities are notorious for giving their children names that are completely out of the ordinary, and, while the names that these famous folks choose may make fans scratch their heads (I mean, North West? Really, Kim Kardashian?!) some of them are actually quite lovely. Lovely and, you know, kinda bizarre. So which celebs gave their newborns a name that the world will remember? Click through to find out.

Gwyneth Paltrow & Chris Martin

Leave it to perpetually-cleansing Paltrow to name her daughter after this “clean” fruit. The Country Strong actress and the Coldplay frontman gave their daughter the sweet moniker Apple.

Sylvester Stallone

The Rocky star’s son has an intense name: Sage Moonblood.

Lil' Kim

Of course the Queen Bee would give her son a kingly name — it’s Royal Reign.

Kourtney Kardashian & Scott Disick

The reality stars had their third child together this year, and, like Lil’ Kim, named him something with royal connotations. They welcomed Reign Aston in late 2014.

Nicolas Cage

Cage clearly thinks highly of his children. The Kick-Ass actor named his son Kal-El — a.k.a. the birth name of Superman.

Jason Lee

The My Name Is Earl actor’s son is named Pilot Inspektor after a Granddaddy song titled ”He’s Simple, He’s Dumb, He’s the Pilot.” I think I’d rather be named after Superman.

Alicia Silverstone

Cher Horowitz may have been named after a great singer of the past who now does infomercials, but the Clueless actress named her own son Bear Blu.

Kate Winslet

Sure, Bear is a pretty unique name… but that doesn’t mean two Hollywood stars didn’t want it for their own kid. The Titanic actress took a page from Silverstone’s book when she named her son Bear. His father’s last name? Ned Rocknroll — which is probably why Winslet had Bear keep her surname instead.

David Duchovny & Tea Leoni

This celebrity couple thought they were reallllll clever for naming their kid, well, Kyd.

Gwen Stefani & Gavin Rossdale

The musical couple named one of their sons Apollo, a reference to the Greek God of light, music, and poetry.

Busy Phillips

The Cougar Town actress is really into the animal kingdom. She named her two daughters Birdie and Cricket.

Fergie & Josh Duhamel

The married couple named their son Axl after one of the members from Fergie’s favorite band, Guns N’ Roses.

Holly Madison

Hugh Hefner’s former girlfriend gave her daughter a colorful moniker — it’s Rainbow Aurora.

Jason Bateman

The Arrested Development star must have a thing for pancakes — he named one of his children Maple Sylvie.

Beyoncé & Jay Z

Bey and Jay named their daughter Blue Ivy. Rumor has it that the “Ivy” part of her name comes from a play on the Roman numeral “IV,” which stands for the number four — a significant number to the couple who have birthdays, and their wedding anniversary, on the fourth of a month.

Megan Fox & Brian Austin Green

The married couple’s second child is named Bodhi Ransom. The moniker allegedly comes from the fact that bodhi is the Buddhist word for enlightenment.

Nicole Richie & Joel Madden

The couple has two kids, both with rather unique names. Their daughter is Harlow Winter while their son is Sparrow James Midnight.

Geri Halliwell

Of course the former Ginger Spice is going to give her kid a name with some flavor — she named her daughter Bluebell Madonna.

Reese Witherspoon

The Wild actress embraced her southern roots by giving her son the name Tennessee.

Bono

Bono’s daughter’s name also comes from Tennessee — it’s Memphis Eve.

David & Victoria Beckham

The power couple named their daughter Harper Seven, allegedly after the number on soccer star David Beckham’s jersey

Shannyn Sossamon

The Rules of Attraction actress named her first son after something you could major in at college. His name? Audio Science.

Forest Whitaker

The Butler actor has four kids with unique first names: Autumn, Sonnet, True, and Ocean. He stated that he hopes that each of his kids embody some of the positive attributes associated with their names.

Rob Morrow

The Numb3rs actor named his daughter Tu. As in, Tu Morrow. As in he made his child’s name the longest running dad joke in the world.

Macy Grey

The “I Try” singer proved how much she wanted her daughter to be happy by giving her “Happy” as her first name.

Kristen Bell & Dax Shepard

Bell and Shepard have two daughters together, one named Lincoln and another named Delta.

Adam Sandler

Leave it to a comedian to give his daughter a cheery name. Sandler and his wife gave their daughter the moniker Sunny Madeline.

Courtney Love & Kurt Cobain

The rock star couple named their daughter Frances Bean after Frances McKee of The Vaselines — and the fact that she looked like a “bean” in her ultrasound.

Robert Rodriguez

Let’s hope the Machete director’s son becomes a track star or even a Nascar driver — his father did give him the name Rocket after all.

Jermaine Jackson

The former Jackson 5 member decided to name his son Jermajesty. No, I do not know why.

Penn Jillette

The magician and actor (remember him from Sabrina, the Teenage Witch?) named his son Moxie Crimefighter, because, uh, why not do that?

Emma Thompson

The Love, Actually actress named her daughter Gaia after the goddess of the earth.

Ashlee Simpson & Pete Wentz

The former couple named their son Bronx Mowgli after the NYC borough and the character from the Jungle Book, a book that Wentz said he and his then-wife had bonded over.

Ashley Hebert & J.P. Rosenbaum

The Bachelorette alums found love in a hopeless place — reality television — and welcomed baby Fordham Rhys in 2014.

Christina Aguilera

Aguilera gave birth to her daughter Summer Rain in 2014 — appropriate, considering she’s an August baby.

Rachel Bilson & Hayden Christensen

The pair just welcomed their “little princess” Briar Rose, named after the character from the original fairytale version of Sleeping Beauty.

Pink

The “Raise Your Glass” singer named her daughter Willow Sage, stating that she grew up near a willow tree that “nothing could break” and felt inspired by it.
