While everyone is waiting in excited anticipation for the Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler keep getting asked how they're going to make things exciting and new for the crowd—and they're over it. In the latest promo for the awards ceremony, Poehler and Fey made fun of that question by making a bunch of jokes about their "hosting style" and how they plan to keep things fresh.
"Um, we're not. It's going to be kind of a 'best of.' Take some of the jokes [from past years]," Fey deadpans. "It's not going to make a lot of sense because we're going to be talking about movies that came out two to three years ago."
Poehler chimed in next, fighting to keep a straight face. "We're going to show a 20-minute montage of the jokes that worked, and then we're going to come out at the end." Then she turns to Fey and asks her how she's going to approach things differently.
"God as my witness, I'm not going to dope beforehand. I'm going to do this one clean," Fey says in mock seriousness. Poehler, for her part, plans to switch it up by trying to "make eye contact with one person and win that person over."
Basically Fey and Poehler are saying they don't need to keep things fresh. They're awesome and they're gonna do what they do best and everyone's going to love it—because they always do.
