Drake Has a 30-Foot Water Slide and Other Ridiculous Celebrity Purchases
In the July issue of 'GQ,' the magazine's writers visit Drake's home... and find a mechanical bull, a dog house equipped with AC, and even a 30-foot water slide. But Drake is hardly the only celebrity with an impractical spending habit. (Hey, when you're being paid $10 million dollars a performance, you don't have to be thrifty.) But some purchases are more extreme than others. Here's a list of the weirdest items celebs dropped serious cash on.
Beyoncé: Gold Leggings
Beyoncé rocked these gold Balenciaga leggings at the BET Awards in 2007. The price tag? A whopping $100,000. Leave it to the crazy 'Crazy In Love' singer to purchase a $100,000 clothing item that's flattering on 1 percent of the population.
Lady Gaga: Paranormal Activity Detector
We always knew that Gaga was kind of... out there. But even we couldn't imagine her dropping $50,000 on an EMF reader to check for "spiritual energy."
Nicolas Cage: Dino Skull
Just call him Ross Geller: According to reports, Cage spent $278,000 on a real dinosaur skull. The weirdest part of the purchase? The actor was in a bidding war with Leonardo DiCaprio.
Bono: A Plane Ticket... For A Hat
Sometimes you really just want to wear something specific. Even if that thing is in a different country. That's not a problem for Bono — when he left his hat in London and needed to wear it for a show in Italy, he paid $1,700 to fly the hat out to him. The pivotal question: Coach or first class?
Victoria Beckham: Gold Cell Phone
And you thought the iPhone 5 was pricy. The former Spice Girl spent $36,000 on a gold-plated cell phone. But we're not too surprised — her Hermes handbag collection alone costs $2 million. How very posh.
