Meet 'Celebrity Apprentice' Contestant Sig Hansen

Despite being led by general foe of the entertainment industry, Donald Trump, Celebrity Apprentice is now in its 14th season, with 16 new famous people fighting not to hear those dreaded words uttered by The Donald: "You're fired." It's sometimes hard to get attached to members of any Celebrity Apprentice cast this early on, oftentimes because they are from reality shows you don't watch or sports you don't follow (or they were on an '80s soap opera your mom used to watch). Deadliest Catch star Sig Hansen might fit into that category for anyone who isn't a fan of giant crabs being fished out of the ocean in life-threatening conditions. (Who could blame you? It kind of makes going to a seafood restaurant a dark experience all the sudden.)

Along with celebs like singer Kevin Jonas and baseball player Johnny Damon, Captain Sig is putting himself on Trump's chopping block. But aside from some guy on a dangerous boat, who is this seafaring star? You could probably take a moment to watch a few episodes of Deadliest Catch (apparently, it's pretty damn engaging), but in case you're a little too busy for a Netflix binge, here are a few items to get you started:

He Speaks Norwegian

Born Sigurd Jonny Hansen, in Seattle, Washington, his first language is Norwegian: His parents hailed from the Scandinavian country and spoke Norwegian exclusively at home. Hansen and his three brothers only learned English when they were sent to school.

He Really Loves Dancing With the Stars

In a 2010 interview with Entertainment Weekly , Hansen expressed that he’s gunning for a chance to win that Mirror Ball Trophy: "I know I could do it," he said. "I know it’s a big commitment and I said to my wife that I’m not going to do it if it screws everything up." Rumors floated in 2012 that Hansen would join the cast of DWTS 14, but the suggestion was just that: a rumor. But now I need to know: When will we see his paso doble, ABC?

Fishing Is a Family Tradition For Him

To Hansen, fishing is a family business. His father, Sverre, helped to revolutionize the King crab industry in Alaska and Sig has been working on the family boat, Northwestern, since he was 14 years old, skipping school to cast nets. Sig's wife, Juna, even gets in on the work, phoning in weather reports (in Norwegian, of course) to Sig while Northwestern is out during the crabbing season, and his daughter, Mandy, joined his crew in 2014.

He Was in a Disney Movie

Hansen appeared in the 2011 Pixar flick Cars 2 where he voiced — what else? — a fishing boat who aids in transporting a James Bond-esque vehicle.
