21 Zooey Deschanel Baby Name Options Inspired by Plants, Country Singers, & the 1920s

In T-minus nine months, the queen regent of adorkability will be lending her throaty voice to some lullabies. You heard right, folks. Zooey Deschanel is pregnant, so it's time to start the baby name speculation. Ah, if only Anthropolgie sold books for this sole purpose.

Rather than let society stew in its pregnancy rumor juices, Deschanel put it all out there and revealed the news to People in a story published on Tuesday. The New Girl actress and her boyfriend Jacob Pechenik told the magazine that they are "over the moon" and "can't wait to meet their little one." GAW! We totally can't wait to meet this li'l baby either and appliqué little birds all over it. Odds are, it'll be a picture-perfect child with a face made for organic baby food.

And if we know the Zoe-ster, which I'd like to think we do, this baby's birth certificate is gonna be twee-er than all creation. I'm imagining that some possible sources of Deschanel name inspiration include, but are not limited to: plants, months, children's book characters, people names that are also appropriate for puppies, folk singers, country musicians, and popular names from the '20s. Here are some first names that Deschanel will possibly ascribe to her little boy or little girl.
