Lena Looked Extra Amazing at 'ELLE' Women in TV

by Rosie Narasaki

I think of myself as a Lena Dunham style apologist: I like her unique sensibilities, and respect her propensity for risk-taking. At the ELLE Women in Television Celebration, Lena Dunham continued to impress me. I mean, sure, it doesn't take much — I was one of the few people in the world who actually liked the layer cake of a Giambattista Valli ensemble she wore the the Emmys, and I thought she had one of the cutest dresses at the Met Gala. Even so, I'm not beyond acknowledging a major style misstep, a la the ill-fitting satin Zac Posen number she wore at the Golden Globes (she needs to cut ties with her former babysitter Zac Posen, IMHO — you'd think as a family friend he'd tailor her gowns a bit more carefully). Luckily, she managed to recoup in a major way with one of her best outfits to date on Tuesday night.

It was her night to shine, after all (she was one of the women being honored), so she really brought her fashion A-game: She wore an absolutely adorable black Prada dress with a sort of mod, ombré effect of pink roses, paired with the most adorably bejeweled Mary Janes that you've ever seen (the shoes kind of make the look). Let's take a gander:

We also have to take a closer look at her accessorizing and makeup. She wore adorably retro rose earrings to match the pattern of the dress, while also coordinating her makeup to a T (that lipstick is the perfect shade of pink, no?):
