Zac Posen Tackles A New Design Challange

Zac Posen is known for dressing the A-est of the A-list in his fabulous gowns and designs. But now, the curly-mopped designer is embarking on a brand new challenge. Zac Posen is designing a limited edition wine bottle for Ecco Domani, with the designer himself noting, "I've dressed many people in my life, but never a bottle of wine." Hey, there's a first time for everything, Zac and this is just a new way to get those creative juices flowing.

Posen, who designed Rihanna's deep blush satin gown for her first-ever Diamond Ball in December, the color of which was reminiscent of a refreshing glass of rosé, will outfit the brand's Pinot Grigio bottle for summer 2015. His history with this particular wine company is long and storied, as Ecco Domani sponsored his first runway show. Posen was also the first recipient of the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation Award back in 2002. So the design-a-wine (bottle) concept is not a surprising one for the designer.

"This is such an exciting project because it weaves together my work as a fashion designer and my passion for food, cooking and entertaining. The design will reflect the bright, floral qualities of the wine, giving any table a stylish, refreshing look," Posen said in a press release.

Come to think of it, he probably approaches the curves of the wine bottle with the same love, attention, and understanding with which he approaches the female form.

The Posen x Domani bottle will be sold by all in national beverage retailers that carry Ecco Domani (in the Italian import section, of course) starting in May for — get this! — $10.99. That's pretty much an unheard of price for a ZP original, so I plan to snatch upat least a few bottles. I love the environment, but that's one high-end vino bottle I won't be recycling!

Cheers!
