Wanna Know Johansson's SAT Score?

by Alanna Bennett

Ever wondered what Scarlett Johansson's SAT score was? Yeah, neither did we. But now we know! The glory of the actor tradition of promotional tours in honor of new films — as Johansson has been doing for Don Jon and Her — is that we get to learn a lot of random-ass facts about the people who parade around our pop-cultural lives in shiny dresses and superhero suits. And so it is that Scarlett Johansson sat down with Darren Aronofsky and told us some of those very facts.

The interview — which took place through that magical place where celebrities talk to each other for our benefit, Interview Magazinecan be read in full here. Here are a couple of our favorite moments:

  • Johansson takes it upon to herself to ask Aronofsky what he got on his SATs. He doesn't seem to remember, but she reveals she got a 1,080, which at the time (when the score was out of 1,600) was slightly above average, though she plays it off as bad. (Still, she didn't do quite as well as some other celebrities.)
  • Aronofsky is a "big New York City biker," but Johansson is terrified of city bike-riding, saying " there's also the bike messenger who is definitely riding with a purpose and wants you off his f***ing bike path."
  • Aronofsky had no idea what a comptroller's job was, so Johansson filled him in.
  • Johansson — who is amongst the more classily subdued celebrities out there when it comes to her public attitude — was, as she calls it, "a major ham" when she was a kid. The jazz-hands kind. "And then puberty hit," she says, "and I crawled into a dark, cold shell and never left."

Oh, Scarlett. Just one Avengers: Age of Ultron blooper with the jazz-hands? Please?
