12 Classic (or Classics-Inspired) Reebok Hi Tops

After being bought by Adidas a decade ago, Reebok is trying to make a comeback by partnering with "prominent fitness groups," according to Reuters. It makes sportswear and shoes for CrossFit and is pushing itself as brand for "hardcore" sports enthusiasts. I suppose that's one tack to take, but Reebok could also emphasize its history of making the coolest sneakers ever. Observe: These 12 classic (or classics-inspired) Reebok sneakers.

1980s Reebok Freestyle Hi Top

According to Kicks on Fire, Reebok has roots going all the way back to 1891, but didn't become a big player in the global sneaker market until the late 1970s. By 1982, it was near the top of trainer sales wars, and "the product that gave Reebok that competitive edge" was its line of Freestyle hi tops. Here's a 1980s rainbow suede version.
