Rihanna's New Reality Show on Bravo Will Boost the 'Real Housewives' Egos So Much

I never thought I'd say this, but I feel kind of bad for Rihanna. She did nakedness, sexually explicit lyrics, and suggestive dancing long before Miley Cyrus ever did, but somehow, RiRi's just fallen off the map. No one really cares what she does anymore... even Bravo. When the Style network rebranded as the Esquire network, Rihanna's new reality show Styled to Rock was forced to move to the channel more famous for Housewives than household names, and evidently, there's very little room at Bravo for the pop star's new show.

According to Naughty but Nice Rob, Styled to Rock will air at 8 p.m. on Bravo, which, as everyone knows, is pretty much a death wish. The only people who watch TV on Friday nights are your parents, and I'm pretty sure they'd choose sports or a DVR'd 48 Hours over Rihanna any day of the week.

If her show wasn't doomed to fail from its miserable time slot, the content itself might have done it in. From the previews, it looks to be just like Project Runway, only instead of a Tim Gunn, there's a Pharrell. Normally, we'd say that anything Pharrell is attached to deserves at least a shot, but yikes: There just seems to be nothing fresh about Styled to Rock. I mean, Kelly Osbourne? Really? Come on.

Plus, Rihanna looks like she only shows up at the end to crown either a winner for each competition, or the winner of the whole show. It's hard to tell which is the actual case, but I'm pretty confident that if RiRi was around a lot, the previews would've featured her more prominently.

Thing is, when Bravo hands you a shitty time slot because they don't want to mess with their 'Wives, it's gotta be a blow to the ego. Since Rihanna's essentially been defeated by Brandi Glanville and co. in the reality game, maybe Ri should step off the TV and back into the studio. It's there where she shines bright. Like a diamond.

Styled to Rock premieres Oct. 25 at 8 p.m. on Bravo.
