This Is A 'Fantastic Four' Reboot Done So Right

It feels like it's been SO LONG since we've had a comic movie to look forward to, but fear not — the wait is finally over. On Tuesday, the Fantastic Four trailer debuted, and it's pretty epic. It's been ten years since the studio's original attempt at the classic comic came out, and this reboot looks like it's packing ten times the drama.

Unlike the original, which starred actors like Jessica Alba and Chris Evans, this re-imagined look at the comic is putting the focus on young adults. It stars Kate Mara as The Invisible Woman, Michael B. Jordan as The Human Torch, Jamie Bell as The Thing, and Miles Teller as Mr. Fantastic.

Whether this in an attempt to capture the teenage audience or to just tell a new story, it seems to be working so far. Comments on the official YouTube video seem excited for the darker, edgier tone. It feels more like Divergent than a traditional comic movie. But films like Divergent are what's popular right now, and it looks pretty cool.

The official synopsis of the story says that it's a contemporary retelling of the original superhero team. It "centers on four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways." The newly transformed team then has to learn to work together to save the Earth. I'm already excited for how different this one will be compared to the (admittedly) pretty-cheesy first attempt back in 2005. Get pumped for its August release by watching the trailer below.
