Netflix's 'Daredevil' Looks Even More Promising

by Alanna Bennett

There are a lot of reasons to be excited about Netflix's Daredevil: For one, it will be the nice little breathe of fresh air we all need to finally and forever put the terrible Ben Affleck Daredevil film behind us. After all, he's Batman now, and someone else is Daredevil — so I think it's safe to say we can all move on from our awful memories of that movie. It's freeing, really, when you think about it. So, let us bask in the sweet cathartic feeling that watching Netflix's new Daredevil series teaser brings on — that is, at least for long enough to distract ourselves from the fact that it's one of those irksome teasers-for-a-trailer that are en vogue now.

The good news is that according to SlashFilm, the real Daredevil trailer is expected Wednesday, Feb 4. — so, it's not that far away! The bad news, however, is that what we've got to sate ourselves in the meantime is only a 15 seconds long teaser for a trailer. But, at the very least, it includes some great bits where actually get to see Daredevil himself, Matt Murdock, and hear him speak...if only for a short while.

Above all, however, this teaser confirmation of what we already knew about Netflix's post-Affleck take on the Marvel property: It's working on being dark — literally and figuratively — and the showrunners are staying true to their comments about how they want the show to be a crime drama first and a superhero show second. Of course, though, there's still that superhero glimmer shining through, with Daredevil's mask and his assurance that he "just wants to make [his] world a better place," — no superhero series would be complete without that.

Check the teaser below.

Daredevil Season 1 premieres on Netflix April 10.
