What Your Favorite Candy Says About You

by Corinne Caputo

Obviously chocolate is one of the first things to come to mind for Valentine's day. But with only a few days left, there's barely enough time to whip up some Valentine's Day chocolate recipes. If you are thinking of going the boxed candy route, you're certainly not the only one.

During Valentine's season, chocolate and candy sales can reach profits of $1,011 billion. That's equivalent to the budget for a little less than seven Transformers movies. SEVEN. I mean, I would much prefer a billion dollars worth of candy than seven Transformers movies, but man that's a lot of car-robots and explosions you can purchase with all those sweets.

From chocolate to gummy bears, there isn't a candy out there that truly sucks (except for you, conversation hearts, you are not good). There aren't too many things I would call myself an expert in. I'm good at watching Netflix, I'm good at wanting to be asleep. I'm very good at procrastinating. But having eaten candy for most of my life, I think it's safe to say I know a thing or two about it. Therefore, in honor of Valentine's Day, it seemed only natural that I create the office guide for what your favorite candy says about you according to me, a self-declared candy expert.

M&M's

Like the candy, you are timeless. You make any event more fun, and people keep coming back for more. Above all you are reliable, genuine, and go with the flow.

Hershey's Kiss

Being the perfect portion of sweetness, you can brighten anyone's day simply by being around. You are great all year round, but the winter is really your time to shine.

Snickers

You are a no-nonsense type of person. While you're sweet, you can really pack a punch. If someone feels like they've lost their way, you can always bring them back down to Earth.

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups

There is no one right way to enjoy you. Like the candy in a checkout line, you are always available for your friends when they are feeling down.

Kit-Kat

You tend to spread yourself thin among many friends who want your attention, but you seem to manage just fine. Remember to put yourself first sometimes.

Gummy (worms, bears, fish etc.)

With your adventurous spirit, you are a kid at heart. You love playing in groups, but you don't like when you don't get your way.

Twizzlers

You are the more mature version of gummy worms. You never lost your juvenile spirit, but can still balance the demands of the adult world, and that's what makes you loved by many.

Three Musketeers

Your personality is light and fluffy, and you float straight to the top of a crowd with your friendly presence.

Butterfinger

You are quick to set boundaries, as you should be, and make it clear that people should keep their hands off of you.

Skittles

Your personality includes everything. It spans the rainbow, and while that can be alarming at times, it all blends together in the perfect mouthful of sweet.

Starburst

Some people can unwrap you in their mouth. It's weird, but I guess weirder things have happened.

Blow Pops

You are practically two people in one. At first you seem nice but firm, but when people get to know you, they see how bubbly and flexible you really are.
