Even if I get a little nostalgic for the old school bananas Nicki of yore, I can't argue with the aesthetic greatness if Nicki 2.0. Not like I'm surprised or anything, but Nicki Minaj wore a sorta toned down dress at the 2015 Grammys that still emphasized her, ahem, assets. If this outfit could talk, it would say: "I don't eff with chickens 'less their last name is cutlet."
Although she isn't scheduled to perform tonight, she's nominated in the Best Rap Song category for "Anaconda." In a halter dress designed by Tom Ford, Minaj has stayed on-brand with the Minaj make under of 2014. I mean, she's about as made-under as one can be with some still extremely ample cleavage. With the funky fringe effect at the hem and the sequin embellishment, there's still a little bit of OG crazy-fashion Nicki of the old days.
Shoe-wise, she opted for a pair of Giuseppe Zanotti spike heels, and kept her makeup simple and toned-down. In the hair department, she wore her coif in a simple, slicked back style, certainly it's a far cry from the leopard print Bride of Frankenstein wig of Grammys past. Le sigh. What a difference a few years can make!
