When Will Sia's New Album Come Out? It Already Sounds Like A Masterpiece

Sia has been one busy lady. The "Chandelier" singer — who also happens to be the songwriter behind some of your favorite pop tunes — has just announced that she'll release another album soon. But she's not recording this album in the studio — according to Sia's interview with NME, her latest album is already done, which is pretty crazy, considering her last album, 1000 Forms of Fear, was released in July of 2014. Her new album will be titled This is Acting, a name that references the fact that the songs on the album were originally intended for other artists and therefore aren't quite as personal as the songs on her last album. According to the singer, "[I] didn't go in thinking 'this is something I would say'. It's more like play-acting. It's fun." I expect her listeners will feel the same way.

So now that we know Sia's album is done, when can we expect a release date?

Sadly, that answer is not as simple as getting this album is: The singer hasn't announced anything yet, and don't expect any major press tour to happen when she does. Sia is a notoriously private artist — so private, in fact, that she told NME that she only released her last album to get out of a publishing deal. Her fame-shunning nature is also the reason why she doesn't appear in her music videos or perform live frequently. (In fact, she recently posed for a meet-and-greet with fans and only allowed photographers to snap pics of the back of her head.) That all means that this new album is about just one thing — the music.

Regardless of when Sia's pop album comes out — and let's hope it comes out soon — it'll be great to hear more from this elusive star.
