Lena Dunham & Jack Antonoff Are the Cutest

by Nicole Pomarico

Although I am generally very cynical about relationships, there are a few cases in which I will make an exception for true love, and one of those cases is the couple known as Lena Dunham and Jack Antonoff. Since they've been dating, I've been kind of obsessed with their adorable relationship, and not just because Taylor Swift wrote "You Are in Love" about them. And don't worry — they're getting even cuter. In a recent interview with The Times, Antonoff talked about Dunham in the sweetest way... basically exactly how everyone hopes their significant other talks about them when they aren't around to hear it:

We've been together for over two years, which for me is a long time, and I still want to know everything about her. That's what falling in love is. You're wrapped up in a mystery novel, lost in an exciting world. When I get home from the studio Lena's the first person to hear anything and I can tell if something's good or not by her reaction. We both work so much, chip away at things for so long, that its not like we get over-sensitive. We're not 19. We can take criticism. I love criticism from her.

And this is hardly the first time Antonoff's been caught gushing over Dunham in interviews, and it goes both ways. They've given us so many cute soundbites about each other over the past couple of years that it was hard to narrow it down to the best ones, but here they are.

On Jack Defending Lena When They First Met

The dialogue around the show already existed, so it was sort of clear to him what the baggage of dating me was going to be. And I remember talking with him on our first date and him being like, "God, all the articles about your nudity on the show are such bulls—t." It's funny, 'cause in some ways that's the conversation we still have when I'm upset.

On Going Public With Their Relationship

I'm totally fine to state his name: it's Jack Antonoff. I know there's some rule that you're not supposed to talk about your boyfriend publicly because it seems like all starlets under the age of 33 have decided not to do that, but if you're in love with someone great, then I don't understand why you wouldn't tell everybody.

On Meeting Jack For The First Time & Realized They Have Everything In Common

When I met Jack, I said to my mom, "I met this guy, and he’s obsessed with dying, too, and he lives in his parents’ house!"

On Already Being An Old Married Couple

One time we were at a dinner party where everyone was over 60 and, before we knew it, we realized that everyone at the table had gone outside to smoke pot and they didn't invite us. That basically says it all.

On Their Creative Connection

I just love being with someone who is creative and understands what that process is and understands that mentality. Someone who really understands what it means to do that day in and day out. I also just love his work, so that’s a great added bonus when you think what the person you love makes is actually really good.

On How Easy Their Relationship Is

I was set up with my boyfriend on a blind date; I was like 40 minutes late and now we live together. So I really don't know how you're supposed to go about this.
