At The Oscars, Naomi Watts Looks Refreshingly Offbeat In A Cutout Printed Gown

The 87th Annual Academy Awards have officially arrived, people! It's the biggest fancy dress night of the year, and I'm reporting from the front lines of all the action — aka, my couch. The latest prettily dressed lady to arrive on the 2015 Oscars red carpet is Naomi Watts, who looks refreshingly edgy in a cutout-festooned gown. I wish there was a Birdman pun to be made with her dress, but given the fact that it isn't embellished with feathers, I'm left high and dry.

Now, let's be real. Naomi always looks fantastic. But this printed Armani Privé dress is inventive and conversation-worthy in a way that I don't typically associate with her style. Everything about this dress in remarkable— from the mod black and white square print to the neckline, to the open back and the bandeau bra-lette.

Beauty-wise, she kept things classic with a twist— wearing her blonde locks in a straight-styled lob and opting for a berry-colored statement lip. In a sea of solid-colored dresses, it's nice to see Watts taking a risk and going for a print. My one complaint is that the dress could have fit her better, but given the fact that I'm currently sitting in my living room wearing sweatpants that are a size too big, I'm not really one to criticize.
