Marilyn Manson And His Dad Wore Matching Full Makeup And It Will Warm Your Dark, Cold Heart

The last we saw of Marilyn Manson, he was terrorizing our childhoods by sporting Mickey Mouse ears on the cover of Paper magazine's latest issue. However, it looks like the Terry Richardson-shot pictorial shows a rare glimpse into the controversial shock-rocker's softer side. In a series of photos that Richardson posted on his Tumblr site, Marilyn Manson poses with his dad Hugh Warner in full makeup and the results are oddly sweet and surprisingly sentimental.

Set aside the fact that the super creepy and problematic Richardson photographed them and you are left with a set of truly heartwarming photographs of a son bonding with his father. Even while wearing his signature goth makeup and clothing, Manson comes off completely raw and open, especially in a shot where he covers his face in embarrassment while his dad, a Vietnam veteran, proceeds to grab his own crotch and flip the camera off. Rockers — they're just like us!

During his interview with the magazine, Manson opens up about how his mother's death brought him and his dad closer. He also shares how his dad made a huge impact on him growing up. "When I see pictures of my dad, I'm like, He looks like me," Manson says. "The first time I saw my dad in makeup was, ironically, the second concert I ever went to. He dressed as Gene Simmons and took me to the Kiss 'Dynasty' tour when I was 11. And people were asking my dad for his autograph."

Like goth father, like son.
