The Final 'Avengers' Trailer Is Going To Haunt You

by Kadeen Griffiths

Are you on the edge of your seats yet? Well, you're about to be. On Wednesday, while we were all minding our own business and grabbing our lunches, the final trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron dropped thanks to a very clever Twitter campaign. It called for fans to tweet #AvengersAssemble obsessively until they unlocked the trailer, which obviously they did. I mean, that's like asking Marvel fans to breathe air. This trailer was that necessary for all of our lives. And, much like the very first Age of Ultron trailer that gave us all nightmares and goosebumps, this final promo is certainly one to remember. I'm serious. It resonates with you. I have chills, you guys.

In the trailer, Ultron finally lays out his plans for humanity: to save the world through our extinction. How noble of him. We also see Tony in a lot of real pain about his attempt to use the Ultron Project as a means of world-saving and how spectacularly it backfired in his face. Above all that, however, the trailer shows us a lot of destruction. But not just of buildings, of cities, or of cars; we see the destruction of relationships as well. Between Thor and Tony, Hulk and Tony, and even the entire team as a whole, it seems like nothing is left united in the wake of Ultron's wrath. And there is just something so beautifully haunting about that, something that really makes you wonder: is this the true end of our heroes?

Obviously not, since Marvel wouldn't do us like that, but, with Joss Whedon at the helm, who can even tell? Either way, you need to check out the trailer below because it's our last taste of the film before the movie comes out and it. Is. Epic. If this is the last time we see this group of Avengers together as a team, then it's one hell of a way to go out — snarking at their enemies, and at each other, the whole way down.
